High School Hockey

I am passionate about hockey. It’s a combination of speed, strength, agility, and skill all while moving on two blades on top of a sheet of ice. You have to be able to pass the puck and shoot while skating backwards, forwards, and sideways all while hitting someone and avoiding being hit. Coaches will always tell their players “Keep your head up,” so that their players don’t get blindsided by a check or miss the play that is going on. When I was a kid playing hockey, it was the thrill of being on that ice and for that hour or two I was Wayne Gretzky. No matter what was going on in my life at that time, I could forget about it for a while.
This year, I will be focusing on the Capital Hockey Conference, the high school hockey league in the Central Ohio Area. There are fourteen teams in the Capital Hockey Conference, thirteen from the Columbus area and one from the Cincinnati area. All of these teams will be playing for births in the State Tournament. I will mainly be focusing on the regular season. More to come as the season begins.
